So yesterday we had our first Beachbody Event down in Bakersfield YAY! I am so excited about this business and being able to share it with others, but as with most first events you live and learn. It’s like a pancake you always throw the first one out! We learned a great deal from this event and I’m super excited to get our Challenge Groups going and get people involved in making healthy choices in their lives. If any of you are interested in joining a challenge group please email me at info@gf2revolution.com we are starting new groups every month and cycling through all the programs so there will be a group that fits you! Just email me and will get you started. So we drove down to Bakersfield about a 2 hour drive for us, hosted our event and drove home. We got home around midnight and then I was off to bed because I had to be up early the next morning for a counseling event. I was co-coordinating a counseling conference this morning and had to be there early to help set up and get things going. The conference was fun and we learned a lot and shared a lot with other counseling graduate students, but I’m not going to lie I was tiered. So after the conference we went out to eat, and of course I picked the healthiest item of the menu, a fantastic Pulled Pork Sandwich on a Garlic Bread Roll! It was so good, but all I wanted to do was go home and nap after that, but I didn’t. We got home and I scrounged up enough energy to get my workout in, today was Max Interval Circuit. I was running on fumes, but it’s better to press play then not to press play and that’s what we did.
Max Interval Circuit has 3 complete circuits with 4 exercises each. The first Circuit starts with the Pedal which I truly hate because I always get so exhausted and feel like I’m going to hurt myself jumping into a lunge like that, but I never do. It is followed by a series of 4 moves all in one exercise Ski Abs to Push Up Jacks to In and Out Abs to Oblique Runs, which used to be really challenging for me but I can now manage to stay in the entire time, followed by Power Strike or as I call it the Lawn Mower, because I feel like I am pulling the cord to start a lawn mower with that move, and the circuit ends with Frog Jumps. You then do Football Runs to Cross Jacks which I can now proudly do so I feel slightly less uncoordinated than I used to. The second circuit is Hook Jumps which is tiring but manageable, High Knees with Twist which I can almost never stay in the entire time, High Low Jab with squat which I have altered to doing 5 on one side and then 5 on the other side since he never has us switch and it seems weird to work only one side the entire time, and the last move is Floor Switch Kicks which are a true challenge for me and I end up modifying this to alternating Floor Kicks instead of the jumping action where both feet are actually off the floor. The next move is the 1-2-3 Jab Across which I used to be too uncoordinated to figure out and now find it kind of fun and definitely a relief from what we just did. The last circuit is the hardest in my opinion it ahs the Side Suicide Jumps which I can only do a few on each side, Squat Hooks which is like Ski Down but with a hook thrown in, Full Body Drills which consist of 8 Floor Sprints, 4 Moving Push Ups and 8 Wide Knee runs which totally kill me and if that is not enough burning of the shoulders I have to stay in plank and attempt to do Plank Punches for as long as possible.
All in all this is a hard workout but when you have no energy or motivation it becomes even harder. Unfortunately between using our Phone/Video Camera for our Event on Friday and my conference today we couldn’t videotape this one, so no video today. Probably a good thing though, I looked like the walking dead, but tomorrow is supposed to be Core Cardio Balance, however we have an event we signed up for called the Warrior Dash which is a 5K Obstacle Course Run, which we will video for you guys but we will be substituting that for the Core Cardio and Balance and then we will do Relief on Monday as scheduled. So I will talk to you all Monday but I’ll put up the Warrior Dash Video and maybe a Blog about it tomorrow so you can see what it was all about! We are almost there guys hang in there!
