The Asylum Day 28: Relief

The Asylum Day 28: Relief

Dec 12, 2011

So yesterday I had a wonderfully romantic date with Back to Core, and today I get another wonderfully relaxing date with Asylum Relief. I love this date! It is so wonderful to get to just pamper yourself and make yourself feel good, especially after all the hard work you have been putting in. I have always referred to Asylum Relief as that important date you need to have in order to develop a long lasting friendship. It’s great to take on the challenge of dating Insanity the Asylum for 30days, but once those 30days are done and you have completed your obligation will you go back and do it again? For me honestly, I’m not sure! We aren’t exactly a match made in heaven, but we get along pretty good overall. However its dates like these that really make me think I would maintain my relationship with Asylum even if I wasn’t completing the full 30 day program, that I’d still come to visit from time to time. Dates like Relief and Back to Core make me feel pampered and appreciated, and are definitely worth seeing from time to time. It’s the foundation to the whole relationship, it has given me the most improvements, and growth overall.

One of my main health and fitness goals was to increase my flexibility, and I know if that was my sole goal Asylum probably isn’t the perfect fit workout for that goal specifically. I could have picked a different program that was more Yoga or stretch based, but I did have other goals I wanted to accomplish. I wanted to increase my coordination and agility, I wanted to increase my overall level of strength, and in general I wanted to increase my overall health. Asylum allowed me to do all these things, but Relief focused in on my goal to increase flexibility. On day 1 of this program I could not touch my toes, in fact I could not really stretch without discomfort. Today I stand here a changed woman. I can now touch my toes!!!!! I can touch my toes from a standing position with both feet together, I can touch the ground from a standing position and feet spread shoulder width apart, and I can just stretch in general without horrible discomfort. In fact it has taken stretching to the next level for me. I no longer stretch because I was told I have to, I stretch because it makes me feel good and more able to compete within the actually workouts. Now again if I really wanted to get outstanding results I could have added the Relief workout in everyday, which I did consider, but this marked improvement comes from just going through the regularly scheduled Asylum program.  So I’d say even if flexibility is not one of your goals you still improve in this area over time, just by complete the program. So if it’s not one of your goals it is just an added benefit, and if it is then you’ll be happy to know this program will help you get there. I am so ecstatic by my level of flexibility today guys, I even did a special clip at the end of the video to show my ability to touch my toes without any extra effort or strain, just one fluid motion. You should check it out below and if you really want to be amazed go back to my first relief workout and watch that one and then compare it to where I’m at now! The difference is remarkable!!!

So that’s my date today guys, it was a wonderfully relaxing and romantic date with Asylum Relief. I wish this was the last day of the program so I could end on such a wonderfully high note, but I know there is still work to be done. The day after the Fit Test I may add on Asylum Relief just so I can end my time with Asylum is this happy relaxed state of mind, with such a sense of accomplishment. I do know that Asylum and I will maintain a lifelong friendship because of the bonds that were made here in this wonderful date. Asylum Relief and I will be seeing each other 2-3 times a week for the next few weeks or until I start up a new Beachbody workout program, because after I worked this hard and got such great flexibility results I don’t want to lose that progress. You need to keep up with your stretching if you hope to maintain your current level of flexibility, so don’t get to the end of this and think wow I’ve gotten to where I want to be I don’t have to do anymore, because no sooner than you make the statement your flexibility will decrease back to what it was before you progressed in this program. So keep it up guys, we only have 2 wonderful Asylum dates left, and tomorrow is the last Speed and Agility Date. This is one I need to prove myself in and one that will help prepare me for my Final Fit Test, where I guarantee you will see so wonderful improvements! So stay tuned for that, and I’ll talk to you all tomorrow for my date with Asylum’s Speed and Agility!
